Pakistan SME Exports See Boost From NY Consulate

Pakistan’s Consulate General in New York hosted a high-level trade delegation from Islamabad to promote exports by Pakistani small and medium enterprises to the United States, offering practical support and market guidance to help delegates connect with U.S. buyers and industry partners.

Organized by the Global Trade and Expo Centre in Islamabad, the delegation included entrepreneurs from food processing, footwear, information technology, surgical instruments and beauty products. Delegates met with Consulate officials to explore entry points, partnerships and promotional opportunities in the U.S. market.

Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai welcomed the visitors and reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to assisting Pakistani businesses expand their international footprint. He underlined the strategic importance of the United States as a trading partner and the potential for growth through innovation and cross-border collaboration.

In remarks to the delegation, the Consul General outlined the U.S. economic landscape and identified niche and high-demand segments where Pakistani products could gain traction. He advised SMEs to develop strategic brand positioning to meet evolving U.S. consumer preferences and capitalize on specialty market opportunities.

The Consulate pledged continued support in practical areas such as navigating regulatory requirements, facilitating business linkages, and arranging introductions to potential buyers and industry leaders. Officials emphasized that these services are intended to lower barriers for SMEs seeking to enter or scale within the U.S. market.

The visit is part of the Consulate’s broader effort to strengthen Pakistan’s export capacity and empower SMEs to engage more effectively in global trade. Delegates were encouraged to pursue strategic partnerships, participate in trade exhibitions and use the insights gained from the trip to refine market-entry strategies.
