The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara, together with the Pakistan Embassy International Study Group, organised a Seerat Conference on 20 September 2025 to commemorate the 1500th blessed birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The event highlighted the Prophet’s life and teachings as enduring guidance for peace, compassion and justice.
The conference drew a notable diplomatic presence, including Ambassador M. Amanul Haq of Bangladesh, Ambassador Abdul Raheem of the Maldives, Ambassador Nadir Yousif Eltayeb of Sudan and former Turkish Consul General to Karachi Mr. Cemal Sangu. Representatives from the UAE, Iran, Azerbaijan and Egypt also attended, underscoring the international and regional resonance of the gathering.
Eminent scholars addressed the audience, among them Prof. Dr. Mirzahan Hizal, Dr. Saban Ali Duzgun and Pakistan’s Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid, who stressed that the Seerat Conference served to reaffirm the Prophet’s example of mercy, empathy, justice and fraternity. Speakers linked those qualities to contemporary challenges, urging practical application of prophetic principles to promote social harmony and fairness.
The programme included soulful naats that added a dignified and reflective atmosphere to proceedings. In his keynote, Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid described the Prophet’s (PBUH) seerat as living guidance, calling on communities to rise above narrow interests, spread peace, show mercy during difficult times and uphold justice amid inequality.
The Seerat Conference concluded with participants renewing a collective commitment to translate the Prophet’s teachings into action, with Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in Ankara emphasising its role in fostering interfaith dialogue, mutual respect and unity across societies.
