The World Health Organization provided targeted training to health sector partners across Pakistan to embed gender equality into health emergency responses. The programme focused on strengthening gender equality measures and building capacity for gender-responsive analysis and interventions within routine and emergency health services.
Participants were guided on practical steps to integrate lifesaving health responses for survivors of gender-based violence into emergency planning and response. Emphasis was placed on gender-responsive data collection, analysis and the design of interventions that ensure access to essential services for women, men and vulnerable groups affected by crises.
By reinforcing gender-responsive approaches, the training aims to help provincial and district health teams, NGOs and other partners deliver more equitable care during health emergencies. Strengthening gender equality in the health sector supports better outcomes and more effective protection for those at risk of gender-based violence during crises.
