UNODC final Training of Trainers on Upgraded CFMS boosts Punjab prosecution capacity and speeds case processing across the province.

From 16–18 September 2025, UNODC held the fourth and final Training of Trainers workshop on the upgraded and integrated Case Flow Management System at a Murree hotel in partnership with the Punjab Prosecution Department and the Punjab Information Technology Board. The workshop capped an INL-supported programme designed to strengthen institutional training capacity across the province.

The initiative builds on three earlier Training of Trainers sessions held in Murree (5–7 August), Islamabad (19–21 August) and Lahore (26–28 August 2025). Selected prosecutors who attended these sessions participated in hands-on technical modules and practical exercises focused on the upgraded CFMS functionality.

Participants examined the Line of Inquiry module, real-time notifications, analytical dashboards, the public access portal and an enhanced mobile application, gaining practical experience in case tracking and digital evidence integration. Emphasis on data-driven decision-making aimed to improve coordination between prosecution teams and court administrators while raising transparency in case management.

Selected prosecutors from all four workshops will co-facilitate specialised training across Punjab to ensure knowledge transfer, sustainability and institutional ownership of the system. Provincial rollout by trained facilitators is expected to accelerate prosecution processes and help reduce prison overcrowding by minimising delays in undertrial cases.

The upgraded CFMS forms a key element of Punjab’s broader justice reform agenda, enabling faster case progression and better analytical oversight at provincial and district levels. The training and system enhancements were supported by the U.S. Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) and implemented in close collaboration with provincial partners.
