The Ministry of Industries and Production held a formal ceremony in Islamabad today for the handover of retrieved state land to the Federal Government. On behalf of the government, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan received the property from National Accountability Bureau Deputy Chairman Sohail Nasir and NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director General Farmanullah. The event was attended by Secretary Industries and Production Saif Anjum, NAB representatives and Director General Freedoon Akram Sheikh.
Through NAB’s recovery efforts, a total of 310 kanals of state land located in Haripur, valued at billions of rupees, was retrieved and formally handed over to the Federal Government via the Ministry of Industries and Production. The recovered state land will now be under federal administration for appropriate use and protection of public resources.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Haroon Akhtar Khan said that, under the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, safeguarding national resources remains a government priority. He highlighted that institutions are cooperating in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to build a corruption free Pakistan and that joint action between NAB and federal authorities is ensuring national assets are protected for the public interest.
Officials described the handover as a concrete example of accountability and institutional coordination in Pakistan. The recovery and transfer of the Haripur property underscores ongoing efforts to secure state property and reinforce the rule of law in managing public assets.
