Federal Minister for National Health Syed Mustafa Kamal visited Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) today to inspect the vaccination centre and the research laboratory, reviewing the work underway on a locally developed vaccine.
During the visit he praised the teams involved and the scientific efforts behind the local vaccine, expressing a firm commitment to advancing Pakistan’s capacity for domestic vaccine production and supporting continued research initiatives.
He described the vaccination centre and research lab as functional and meeting international standards, calling the progress at DUHS encouraging for the country’s public health goals and vaccine self-reliance.
Present at the inspection were Professor Iftikhar, Principal of Dow International Medical College, Professor Dr Izhar, Head of the Research Centre, Professor Dr Ashrafaq, Registrar of Dow University, and Dr Khawar Mahdi.
