Draft PC-I for the Punjab Climate Observatory finalised to boost climate monitoring, data integration and evidence-based planning across Punjab.

A meeting of the Panel of Experts was convened to finalise the draft PC-I of the Punjab Climate Observatory, chaired by the Secretary EP&CCD, Ms. Silwat Saeed. The session focused on shaping a framework that will strengthen climate monitoring and improve the use of integrated data for planning across the province.

Participants included representatives from AST, DS(Tech), DS(CC), the Urban Unit, DD(M&E) and IDAP, who provided technical and operational feedback on the proposed design. Attendees discussed how the Punjab Climate Observatory can centralise climate information, enhance data integration and support evidence-based decision-making for provincial and municipal authorities.

By finalising the draft PC-I, the department aims to create a resilient planning tool tailored to Punjab’s needs, enabling better climate risk assessment and more informed policy responses. The Observatory is intended to strengthen coordination between planning bodies and technical units to ensure timely, data-driven action on climate challenges facing the province.
