A delegation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa joined officials in Lahore for an interprovincial exchange hosted by the Peace & Justice Network to review social protection programming and strengthen coordination between provinces. The visit focused on how the Punjab PSPA implements inclusive policies for low-income families, persons with disabilities, elderly citizens and other marginalized groups.
Punjab PSPA officials provided an in-depth orientation on flagship initiatives, including the Punjab Ehsaas Programme, and demonstrated how data analytics and digital platforms are used to improve transparency and service delivery. Discussions highlighted the Authority’s emphasis on equity, innovation and accountability in designing effective social protection measures for vulnerable communities across Punjab.
Delegates explored practical opportunities for collaboration and cross-learning, underscoring the role of community engagement in shaping responsive and sustainable systems. The exchange sought to strengthen interprovincial coordination and sharing of best practices to uplift vulnerable populations through targeted, evidence-driven interventions.
The exposure visit formed part of the Aawaz II programme managed by the British Council Pakistan and funded by the British High Commission in Pakistan, with provincial partnership from PJN and OAKDF. Participants concluded with commitments to pursue joint initiatives that build more inclusive social protection frameworks between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
