University of Home Economics leads flood relief as faculty and hundreds of students collect and deliver clothes, bedding, food and essentials via Akhuwat.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics praised faculty and hundreds of students who collected clothes, bedding, food and everyday essentials for victims of the 2025 floods. The relief drive was organised on campus and the collected items were handed over through Akhuwat for distribution to flood-affected villages and communities.

Alhamdulillah the spirit of service among students was striking, with many volunteering time and energy and some pledging to donate ten rupees daily for a year to sustain relief work. Such grassroots participation strengthened the university’s role in flood relief and demonstrated strong student solidarity in a time of national need.

The Vice Chancellor said the effort reflected living traditions of mutual support and described the faculty and students’ response as a model of communal compassion. The coordinated delivery via Akhuwat ensured timely assistance reached those most affected, underscoring how local institutions can lead effective flood relief efforts.
