The Parliament House in Islamabad hosted the launch of The History of the Patriotic War: Personality Factor in an event underscoring long-standing Pakistan Azerbaijan ties. Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah attended as chief guest and received the Urdu edition of the book, reflecting growing cultural and linguistic cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov described the book as a comprehensive account of Azerbaijan’s 44-day victory and praised the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev for guiding the nation to reclaim the Nagorno-Karabakh region after decades of occupation. The ambassador thanked Pakistan and Türkiye for their steadfast support during the conflict and conveyed the deep affection Azerbaijan holds for Pakistan.
Ambassador İrfan Neziroğlu highlighted the triangular brotherhood between Pakistan, Türkiye and Azerbaijan, noting that the three nations consistently demonstrate solidarity on regional and global issues. He emphasized close cooperation for peace, stability and development, reinforcing the practical dimensions of Pakistan Azerbaijan ties.
Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah lauded President Aliyev’s leadership during the 2020 Patriotic War and praised Azerbaijan’s progress in national development, education and diplomacy. He observed that literature like this Urdu translation helps bridge nations by connecting hearts, preserving history and inspiring future generations, and he reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty on international platforms.
The ceremony drew senior diplomats and lawmakers including the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, the Ambassador of Türkiye, Federal Ministers Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Abdul Aleem Khan and Attaullah Tarar, members of the Pak–Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group, and parliamentary representatives active in promoting parliamentary diplomacy. Their presence highlighted the multi-layered partnership that strengthens Pakistan Azerbaijan ties across political and cultural spheres.
Speakers commended the Embassy of Azerbaijan for promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening parliamentary and cultural links. The Deputy Speaker reiterated the Parliament of Pakistan’s commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation in education, culture and trade, expressing confidence that the bond of faith, fraternity and friendship between the two nations will continue to grow.
