Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Usman Shaukat signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National University of Pakistan to strengthen ties between the private sector and academia. The agreement was signed in the presence of RCCI Vice President Fahad Barlas and other chamber members, marking a formal step toward closer collaboration.
Under the RCCI MoU the two parties will focus on reinforcing industry-academia linkages and promoting joint research initiatives that address local economic and technological challenges. The partnership aims to open new pathways for graduates and young entrepreneurs in Rawalpindi and the twin cities by connecting academic expertise with business needs.
Stakeholders said the collaboration is intended to support innovation and entrepreneurship while advancing sustainable economic development through practical projects, capacity building and knowledge exchange. By bringing together university researchers and industry practitioners the RCCI MoU seeks to translate academic research into market-ready solutions.
RCCI leadership described the MoU as part of a broader effort to nurture a more inclusive business ecosystem where students, startups and established firms can collaborate on research and commercialization activities that benefit the regional economy.
