President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Atif Ikram Sheikh said the business forum held in Makkah reflects the growing relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and underlined the need to prioritise trade. Speaking at the Pakistan National Week event organised jointly by the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and FPCCI, he described Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as partners through good and bad times and noted that the recent defence agreement is a clear sign of close mutual ties.
The event drew a large turnout from the business community, with Secretary General of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce Muhammad Nasser Al-Ahmari, Consul General Khalid Majeed, FPCCI vice president Tariq Jadoon, Chairman Capital Office Karim Aziz Malik and Chairman Coordination Malik Sohail among those present. The forum provided a platform for private sector leaders from both countries to explore practical cooperation and strengthen commercial links.
Secretary General Muhammad Nasser Al-Ahmari said hosting the business community for Pakistan National Week was an honour and highlighted that the Saudi business community is actively working to bring the private sectors of both countries closer. He emphasised that broad opportunities for collaboration exist across multiple sectors and encouraged business delegations to learn from one another to boost bilateral commerce.
Consul General Khalid Majeed reiterated that enhancing Pakistan Saudi ties is a top government priority and described Pakistan National Week as an important initiative to open Saudi market access for Pakistani products. He said the Pakistani embassy will play a proactive role to ensure that businesses gain entry to Saudi markets and that practical support will be provided to exporters and investors.
Atif Ikram Sheikh also praised Saudi Vision 2030 as a development roadmap with benefits for Pakistan and the wider region, stressing that closer private sector engagement can translate strategic ties into tangible trade and investment outcomes. With a sizeable Pakistani community contributing to the Saudi economy, the forum aimed to convert goodwill and recent defence cooperation into stronger commercial partnerships, greater market access and sustainable economic collaboration.
