Curriculum reforms workshop in Abbottabad by NCC and DCTE gathers provincial experts to guide national curriculum framework and standards.

The National Curriculum Council, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, organised a provincial consultation workshop on curriculum reforms in Abbottabad in collaboration with the Directorate of Curriculum & Teacher Education Abbottabad. The gathering aimed to bring provincial perspectives into the national reform agenda and to build consensus on next steps.

Curriculum experts, assessment professionals, teacher educators and subject specialists attended to review the National Curriculum Framework and discuss minimum standards for curriculum, textbooks and assessment. Deliberations also covered the scheme of studies, languages in education and the rationalization of the national curriculum to better align content with provincial needs.

Mr. Jaffar Mansoor Abbasi welcomed participants and reaffirmed the Directorate’s institutional support for curriculum reforms, stressing the importance of coordinated implementation at the provincial level. Dr. Tabassum Naz, Director NCC, emphasised the need for inclusive provincial engagement to ensure relevance, ownership and success of the reform process.

Participants underscored that meaningful provincial input is essential for effective curriculum reforms and suggested that the insights from Abbottabad will inform revisions to standards and frameworks. The workshop served as a platform to translate national policy direction into practical, locally relevant steps for teacher education and assessment across the province.
