Cashless Islamabad launched at CDA one-window centre to enable QR payments, EasyPaisa and JazzCash and expand digital transactions across the capital.

On 25 October 2025 the Capital Development Authority formally rolled out a new cashless payments system at its One Window directorate as part of the Cashless Islamabad initiative. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa inaugurated the digital payment facility at the One Window Facilitation Centre and conducted a test transaction himself to evaluate the system.

Senior CDA officials including Member Finance Tahir Naeem and Member Environment Asfandyar Baloch, the DG Building Control, directors of One Window and State One, and representatives from Finnect and commercial banks attended the launch. CEO of Finnect Shah Nawaz Mahmood and Bank Alfalah’s representative Faraz Yar Khan were present alongside other bank and financial institution delegates and members of the public.

The new platform activates QR code payments through multiple digital channels, with EasyPaisa and JazzCash among the supported providers. Officials briefed the chairman on digital and cashless transaction procedures, highlighting e-challan integration and the option for customers to choose their preferred bank or financial service for transactions.

Chairman Randhawa said the move aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to improve citizen services and modernize the capital. He described the system as an important step toward an e-governance model that will offer faster, transparent and safer payments.

The CDA has already introduced on-the-spot QR codes at weekly markets and will phase the cashless system into commercial centres, shopping malls and wholesale and retail markets across the city. The authority plans to launch an Aasan Service Centre under the Ministry of Information Technology to bring multiple services under one roof in a professional public-facing environment.

The Cashless Islamabad rollout aims to protect citizens from fraud in financial transactions while promoting a modern, international standard for city services. Officials said the system will provide open choice for users and expand digital transaction options to make everyday payments more convenient for Islamabad residents.
