DRAP orientation advances drug clearance in Lahore

DRAP orientation at LCCI on 23 October 2025 accelerates drug clearance through PSW change management to ensure availability of life-saving medicines and boost exports.

On 23 October 2025 an orientation session led by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan in coordination with the Pakistan Single Window was held at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The DRAP orientation convened regulatory officials and industry technical staff to discuss implementation steps and change management for PSW that aim to streamline approval timelines.

Mr Zeeshan Nazir Bajar, Director QA&LT DRAP Islamabad, and Dr Syed Zia Husnain, Additional Director DRAP Lahore, participated alongside officers from DRAP Lahore. Ms Marium, PSW coordinator, presented on PSW change management while the vice president of LCCI attended and engaged with stakeholders on practical implications for the sector.

A large number of technical professionals from the pharmaceutical industry joined the interactive session, offering feedback and raising operational concerns. The DRAP orientation emphasised measures to speed up the clearance process, ensure the availability of life-saving drugs and create favourable conditions for increased drug exports from Pakistan.

The meeting was organised by DRAP and PSW with the cooperation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and DRAP Lahore made necessary arrangements under the guidance of the Director QA&LT to maximise stakeholder participation. Appreciation was expressed for the role of PPMA and PCDA in mobilising firm-level involvement, and participants left with clearer timelines and next steps to operationalise PSW changes.
