Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar received a call on the evening of October 31, 2025 from Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to discuss ways to strengthen Canada Pakistan trade and investment. The conversation centred on enhanced cooperation in agriculture and mines and minerals, and explored how the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPPA) could support expanded commercial ties.

Minister Anand expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s facilitation of market access for Canadian canola exports, describing the development as a constructive step for bilateral agricultural trade. Both sides examined practical avenues to boost investment and exports, with an emphasis on translating dialogue into tangible opportunities for businesses in both countries.

Both leaders welcomed recent constructive engagements, reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation and agreed to remain in close contact to follow up on agreed measures.
