A two-day preparatory Senior Officials’ Meeting for the 41st Ministerial Session of the OIC Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) began on 1 November 2025 in Istanbul, Türkiye. The session convenes delegates from Member States and relevant OIC institutions working across the socio-economic domain to assess progress and coordinate next steps.
The meeting is chaired by H.E. Mr. Ridvan Agaoglu, Vice-President of the Strategy and Budget of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, while the OIC General Secretariat delegation to the SOM is led by H.E. Dr. Ahmad Sengendo, Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs. Participants will review implementation of the OIC-2025 Programme of Action and ongoing initiatives in trade and investment, agriculture, labour and employment, transportation, tourism, finance, private sector development and poverty alleviation.
Taking place ahead of the 41st Ministerial Session scheduled for 3-4 November 2025 in Istanbul, the SOM will prepare draft resolutions on agenda items to be submitted for ministerial adoption. The outcomes of this COMCEC meeting are expected to guide policy coordination and cooperation among OIC member states on economic and commercial priorities.
