WHO and DRAP launch pharmacovigilance training for 100 health care experts to strengthen medicine and vaccine safety across Pakistan.

WHO is working with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan to deliver pharmacovigilance training to 100 health care experts, aiming to strengthen the systems that monitor the safety and effectiveness of medicines and vaccines in Pakistan.

The pharmacovigilance training will focus on improving detection and reporting of adverse events, enhancing analysis of safety data and building practical skills that health professionals and regulators can use across clinical and immunisation settings. Participants are expected to leave better prepared to support timely responses that protect patients.

For Pakistan, enhancing pharmacovigilance capacity is a step toward more robust regulatory oversight and greater public confidence in treatment and vaccination programmes. Stronger reporting and data use will help authorities and clinicians identify safety signals earlier and act on them effectively.

By equipping 100 health care experts with updated tools and guidance through this pharmacovigilance training, WHO and DRAP seek to bolster national efforts to ensure medicines and vaccines remain safe and effective for communities across the country.
