AFC President Sheikh Salman witnessed girls football at Islamabad College, praising players and supporting grassroots women's sport in Pakistan.

Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation and FIFA Vice President, attended a lively girls football match at Islamabad College for Girls in F-6/2, Islamabad and observed the growing enthusiasm for the sport among students.

During the visit he met with players, coaches and school administrators and praised the confidence and commitment shown on the field. The display of skill and teamwork underlined the potential of girls football to expand at the grassroots level in Pakistan.

It’s heartening to see the passion and talent of these young girls. Football has the power to empower and inspire, and I’m delighted to see it being played at the grassroots level in Pakistan said Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa as he engaged with the team and staff.

The AFC President also toured the school premises and spoke with students and faculty, commending Islamabad College for Girls for promoting education alongside sports opportunities. His visit reinforces the AFC’s commitment to developing football in Pakistan and to advancing women’s football across the region.
