Alkhidmat Foundation Punjab North will host Shaheen Sports League 4.0 on 9 November 2025 at Ayub Park Sports Complex in Rawalpindi, bringing together 231 children from 12 districts to compete across seven sports disciplines. The event is designed specifically for children under Alkhidmat’s care and aims to provide a platform for physical activity, healthy competition and social engagement.
Speaking at a briefing, Alkhidmat Punjab North President Rizwan Ahmed said the Shaheen Sports League is a practical embodiment of Iqbal’s message of selfhood and the falcon’s resolve, intended to instill confidence, leadership and teamwork among orphaned children. He emphasized that sports can help turn feelings of deprivation into motivation for service and positive participation in national life.
Alkhidmat’s ongoing programmes for orphan sponsorship, education and character building form the backdrop to this league, which the foundation describes as the continuation of its child development initiatives. Present at the briefing were General Secretary Amjad Hussain Shah, District President Rawalpindi Haroon Rasheed and Deputy Director Bilal Azfar Abbasi, who outlined logistical arrangements and child welfare measures for the day.
Guests expected from across the country include Dr Hafeez ur Rehman, President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Air Vice Marshal (R) Farooq Habib, Vice President of Alkhidmat Pakistan, and Brigadier Abdul Jabbar Butt, National Director of the orphan sponsorship programme. Their participation underscores the national significance Alkhidmat places on youth engagement through sport.
At the conclusion of the event, awards and certificates will be presented to children who show outstanding performance, while cultural elements such as collective songs and special events marking Iqbal Day will offer opportunities for expression and celebration. Rizwan Ahmed summed up the foundation’s aim by saying that these children are a source of pride and, if supported with self-confidence and purpose, can grow into tomorrow’s leaders, scientists and champions of service to humanity.
