The upgradation plan will cover infrastructure rehabilitation, horticulture and landscaping and the provision of modern facilities to improve living standards.
In Sector C-14, officials reported rapid progress on road infrastructure (TST), ongoing horticulture work and internal electrification along the service road. Chairman Randhawa instructed that remaining tasks be completed without delay and ordered an acceleration of street light installation, drainage and sewerage works, water supply connections and horticulture, with electricity supply to be finalized as a priority.
Work in Sector C-15 continues with earthwork for road infrastructure underway and sub-base work completed on around 17 roads. Contracts for the remaining development works have been awarded and authorities expect all road infrastructure to be finished by March next year, a timeline the chairman urged be strictly adhered to.
Development activity in Sector E-12 is progressing in Sub-sectors 2 and 3 while tendering for Sub-sector 4 is expected to be completed soon. In Sector I-12, TST work is scheduled for completion this month, and the chairman directed prompt finalization of remaining road works.
The chairman also emphasized the need for permanent street lighting, reliable water and sewerage systems and regular on-site supervision by concerned officers to ensure timely completion of projects. He instructed early handing over of possession for developed plots in new sectors and stressed that meeting residential needs through sustained sectors development remains a top priority alongside broader urban infrastructure improvements in Islamabad.
