Rawalpindi board acts against exam cheating as Controller Tanveer Asghar Awan registers a case after a candidate was caught during intermediate exams.

Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan conducted inspections at multiple intermediate exam centres in Rawalpindi to review security arrangements, seating plans and invigilator attendance ahead of ongoing papers. The visits were aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of exams and safeguarding merit and transparency.

At the Government Graduate College Satellite Town exam centre, a candidate identified as Mashaf Zahid bearing roll number 804637 was apprehended while attempting to copy during the Physics paper. The student was caught red-handed and immediate action was taken: a case was registered and the matter was forwarded to the Board’s discipline branch and office for further proceedings.

Exam cheating incidents will be dealt with strictly, the controller said, stressing that there will be no compromise on merit. He reiterated that the Punjab government’s zero tolerance policy is being fully implemented to keep the examination process transparent and fair for all candidates.

The board administration said continued monitoring of centres will remain a priority and urged students and their families to respect rules so that genuine candidates can compete on a level playing field. The action in Rawalpindi underscores the board’s commitment to preventing malpractice and preserving the integrity of intermediate exams.
