Pakistan Tajikistan ties advanced as Speaker Ayaz Sadiq hosted Tajik deputy speaker in Islamabad to boost parliamentary cooperation and cultural links.

On 12 November 2025 at Parliament House Islamabad, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq received Deputy Speaker of the Tajikistan Parliament Aziz Giyozoda for a focused discussion on bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation. The meeting brought together lawmakers to explore ways to deepen institutional contacts and practical collaboration.

Officials exchanged views on strengthening Pakistan Tajikistan ties across multiple areas, including parliamentary dialogue, cultural exchange, education and trade. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq described Tajikistan as a close and brotherly Islamic country and highlighted the potential of parliamentary channels to build mutual trust and expand cooperation.

The Speaker stressed the need to promote cultural, educational and commercial links, noting Pakistan’s readiness to work with Tajik counterparts to create new opportunities. He acknowledged Tajikistan’s difficult past marked by a prolonged conflict and said the shared objective remains to promote regional stability and cooperative growth.

Deputy Speaker Aziz Giyozoda underlined the strong bonds of religion, tradition and culture that connect the two countries and pointed to clear cultural affinities between Tajikistan and Pakistan’s northern areas such as Gilgit-Baltistan, Hunza and Chitral. He reaffirmed that peace, security and development are common goals requiring joint effort.

Also present at the meeting was Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah. Both sides agreed to intensify parliamentary exchanges and pursue practical initiatives that will consolidate Pakistan Tajikistan ties and contribute to wider regional harmony.
