Director NFE Sindh supports ALP training in Karachi with SEW and JICA, meeting stakeholders to expand non formal education for out-of-school children.

The Director Literacy and Non-formal Education in Sindh visited the Society for Education Welfare (SEW) in Karachi to support stakeholders promoting non formal education for out-of-school children. SEW has launched its ALP program in Sindh and, with backing from DL&NFE and JICA, organized a two day ALP training for Package A in the city.

During the training sessions the Director NFE Sindh, accompanied by the Provincial Coordinator JICA AQAL-III, observed classroom activities and engaged with trainers to assess the ALP training approach. Meetings with SEW management focused on practical steps to expand non formal education across urban slums and to strengthen outreach to children who remain outside the formal system.

The Director discussed teaching strategies and monitoring methods with both teachers and trainers to enhance the effectiveness of the ALP training in densely populated neighbourhoods of Karachi. Participants exchanged feedback on learning materials, community mobilization and classroom practices to better serve learners in marginalised areas.

At the close of the event certificates were awarded to participating teachers and the SEW team, underscoring the collaborative effort between provincial education authorities, SEW and JICA. The engagement signals renewed momentum to scale up non formal education in Sindh and to provide viable learning pathways for out-of-school children.
