PRCS coordination urged to strengthen Pakistan humanitarian response. Support collective action and preparedness to protect vulnerable communities.

At a partnership meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Raja Rehan Arif, Head of the Organization Development Department at PRCS National Headquarters, outlined the humanitarian challenges Pakistan is confronting and called for stronger coordination to address them. He warned that evolving needs require a more unified approach from agencies, government bodies and local responders to ensure timely assistance reaches those who are most at risk.

Mr. Arif emphasised that PRCS coordination with public authorities and partner agencies is critical to scale up relief efforts. He described how the society’s nationwide programmes are focused on enhancing preparedness, improving response capacity and building resilience at the community level so vulnerable populations can better withstand emergencies.

The meeting brought together representatives from international partners including the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross, reflecting a shared interest in bolstering collaboration. Mr. Arif noted that stronger partnerships and clearer operational coordination will reduce duplication and accelerate support where it is needed most.

For communities across Pakistan, improved PRCS coordination means more effective preparedness initiatives, faster emergency response and stronger recovery support. The call for collective action underlines the need for continued investment in local capacity and closer working relationships between PRCS, public authorities and international partners to protect vulnerable communities.
