National CERT trains women at Riphah to build Cyber Confidence through SAFER, tackling harassment, stalking and scams while promoting digital safety.

The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) delivered an interactive training session at Riphah International University Female Campus in Islamabad to help women build Cyber Confidence. The programme focused on practical steps women can take to protect personal and professional online presence and to respond to common digital threats.

The session was held under the Security Awareness for Female Empowerment and Resilience initiative, known as SAFER, which is part of National CERTโ€™s wider Capacity Building Program. Trainers addressed online harassment, stalking and scams while highlighting the importance of digital consent, privacy settings and emotional resilience when navigating social platforms and communication tools.

Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building at National CERT, led the session and stressed the collective role of education, awareness and interโ€‘institutional collaboration in strengthening cybersecurity culture. His practical examples and dynamic engagement encouraged participants to adopt safer practices and to champion Cyber Confidence within their campuses and communities.

Through interactive discussion and real-world scenarios, attendees gained clearer understanding of emerging cyber risks and proactive measures to reduce exposure. National CERT said more SAFER sessions are planned across diverse female communities, reinforcing efforts to build a digitally resilient Pakistan where women can participate safely and confidently in the online world.
