Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission, met with Mr. Sandeep Paul, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate, and Mr. Jamal Ghazanfar, Senior Program Management Specialist, at PHEC to discuss the Punjab California Sister State Agreement and practical steps to deepen collaboration.
The meeting focused on expanding academic cooperation, research collaboration and faculty and student exchange opportunities under the Sister State framework. Participants explored how the Punjab California agreement can be used to support capacity building, foster innovation and promote joint institutional development across universities in Punjab.
Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships between Pakistani institutions and California counterparts to enhance research outputs and create professional development pathways for faculty and students. PHEC reiterated its commitment to advancing international linkages that contribute to quality education and greater global engagement for Punjab’s higher education sector.
