Dr. Augusto Palmieri, First Secretary at the Embassy of Italy in Pakistan, visited the office of Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, Chairperson NAVTTC, at NAVTTC Headquarters in Islamabad to deliberate on TEVT collaboration between Pakistan and Italy. The meeting focused on practical pathways to link technical and vocational education and training with international opportunities.
The discussion emphasized strengthening institutional linkages and advancing skills development initiatives that can improve workforce mobility and capacity building for Pakistani trainees. Both sides explored how closer cooperation can support the alignment of training standards and create pathways for mutual recognition of competencies.
Participants reviewed potential areas of mutual cooperation that include curriculum alignment, instructor exchange, and joint capacity building efforts, with attention to how these measures could support Pakistan’s labour market needs. The conversation underlined the role of NAVTTC as a national coordinating body and the importance of sustained engagement with Italian counterparts to translate plans into action.
Officials agreed to continue consultations and to develop concrete next steps to implement the TEVT collaboration, aiming to enhance opportunities for skills development and increased workforce mobility between the two countries.
