Students from Quaid-i-Azam University participated in a QAU industrial visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, part of a wider effort to strengthen links between academia and the private sector and to encourage youth engagement in commerce and enterprise.
The outing was organised by the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC-QAU) in collaboration with the Quaidian Business Catalyst Society. Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, joined by members of the RCCI Executive Committee, welcomed the students and briefed them on the chamber’s ongoing and upcoming events, policy advocacy work and proposed industrial and budgetary reforms relevant to local businesses.
Participants viewed the RCCI documentary and attended a focused session from SMEDA on entrepreneurship and startup development, which offered practical guidance for students considering business ventures. An interactive question and answer segment allowed students to explore topics from market access to regulatory hurdles and growth strategies.
The visit concluded with a guided tour of multiple RCCI departments, giving students direct exposure to chamber operations and opportunities to engage with industry representatives. The hands-on experience reinforced the objectives of the QAU industrial visit by linking classroom learning to real-world organisational processes.
Organisers noted that such initiatives play a key role in bridging academic training with industry needs and in fostering youth-led innovation and enterprise across Pakistan.
