Federal Minister Professor Ahsan Iqbal addressed teachers from across the country, calling them the true architects of Pakistan’s destiny and urging a renewed focus on classroom leadership. He emphasized that educational work is directly tied to national development and that Teachers carry the responsibility of shaping future citizens.
Professor Iqbal reminded educators that teaching is not merely a profession but a mission that refines students’ identity, character, critical thinking and creative abilities. He stressed that the guidance provided by Teachers in early years determines how young people engage with ideas and solve problems in later life.
The minister urged schools to strengthen ties between students and their linguistic and cultural roots, highlighting the importance of Urdu and the teachings of Allama Iqbal as anchors of national identity. Teachers were asked to integrate cultural heritage into everyday learning to foster a sense of belonging and pride among pupils.
Looking ahead, Professor Iqbal warned that future competition will hinge on intellectual capacity rather than physical might, and he called on Teachers to cultivate curiosity, encourage questioning and promote cooperative learning in the classroom. He said classrooms must become spaces where inquiry and collaboration prepare students for complex challenges.
Professor Iqbal described today’s students as the “2047 generation” who will assume leadership at Pakistan’s centennial. He placed a direct responsibility on Teachers to ready these young leaders with the values, skills and confidence required to steer the country forward.
Concluding his remarks, Ahsan Iqbal argued that with committed Teachers training and guiding youthful minds, Pakistan can enter 2047 with renewed confidence, innovation and unity on the world stage.
