Chaudhry Golf Cup sees Jashwa Amjad and Abdul Rauf take the lead after round two at Defence Raya; final round on Nov 23 promises a tight finish.

The 11th Vice Admiral H.M.S. Chaudhry Golf Cup moved into a decisive phase after the second round at Defence Raya Golf & Country Club in Lahore, with shifting leaderboards and tight scoring in both the Amateur and Senior Amateur divisions. The Chaudhry Golf Cup has produced intense competition as players jostle for advantage ahead of the final day on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

In the Amateur category, Jashwa Amjad of RGC showed steady, consistent golf to sit atop the net standings with a gross total of 150 and an impressive net aggregate of 140. His measured approach play and reliable scoring on the outward nine helped him stay ahead of rivals who flashed moments of brilliance but could not sustain a rhythm. Hussain Hamid (RP) carded a gross 147 and matched Amjad with a net 140, but sat behind on tie-breaking criteria, keeping the contest extremely close. Salman Gulzar (Raya) posted a gross 76 in the second round to finish with a net 142, while Syed Hassan Askari and Khurram Khalid Khan (both Raya) also recorded net 142, forming a tight group of contenders. Notable recovery by Abdullah Ansar (DHA Karachi) produced a net 143 and kept him in contention, and established names such as Brig Asif Maqsood (RGC) and Usman Akram Sahi (Raya) remained within a few strokes as several players were bunched between net scores of 140 and 148.

In the Senior Amateur division, disciplined golf from Abdul Rauf Ali (RP) earned him the 1st net position after two rounds with a gross 151 and an outstanding net 137. His patient course management and steady putting were key to his climb to the top. The 1st gross spot was claimed by Ahmed Zafar Hayat (RP), whose gross 143 featured long stretches without bogeys and a composed performance in the big numbers. Air Cdre Tariq Usman (PAF Sky View) held 2nd net with a net 143 thanks to accurate tee shots that set up scoring chances, while Col Ikram-ul-Haq (Raya) sat third net at 145. In the gross standings, Haider Malli (GYM) was third at 148, with experienced seniors such as Umair Butt (Raya) and Brig Muhammad Masood (RGC) close behind and the title very much still in play.

The Chaudhry Golf Cup finale on Sunday promises a high-pressure finish as narrow margins and shifting winds at Defence Raya could reshape the leaderboard. With Pakistan’s top amateurs battling for one of the nation’s respected amateur trophies, the concluding day will determine champions in both Amateur and Senior Amateur categories before a prize distribution ceremony that will honour standout performers across the event.
