Pakistan Turkey health ties strengthened as ministers agree to expand blood services, health insurance exchanges and joint training in Ankara talks.

In Ankara, Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal held a constructive meeting with Professor Dr Fatma Meriç Yılmaz, President of the Turkish Red Crescent, to advance Pakistan Turkey health collaboration in key health and humanitarian welfare sectors.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and Turkey and explored new avenues of cooperation. The delegation-level talks focused on practical steps to elevate blood services through adoption of modern blood bank management systems, stricter safety standards and measures to increase operational capacity.

The ministers also discussed exchanging experiences in health insurance, with attention to best practices, policy development and service delivery models that can strengthen coverage and efficiency. Pakistan Turkey health cooperation on insurance aims to support policy makers and administrators through shared learning and technical advice.

Participants agreed to deepen ties via joint training programs, technical exchanges and capacity building initiatives designed to build a robust, inclusive and resilient health support system. These measures are intended to translate the Ankara dialogue into tangible improvements in blood services, insurance frameworks and overall health preparedness.

Both parties committed to follow-up coordination to turn the discussed possibilities into concrete projects that benefit communities in Pakistan and reinforce the humanitarian partnership with Turkish health institutions.
