The Embassy of Bulgaria in Islamabad, together with COMSATS University Islamabad, opened a joint photo exhibition that spotlights ancient treasures from Bulgaria and Pakistan. The exhibition uses striking images of artefacts to trace the deep historical roots of both countries and to celebrate their shared cultural journey.

Photographs of exquisite golden and silver objects from the Thracian period stand alongside images of Pakistani heritage, creating a visual narrative that underscores how heritage can transcend borders. The display invites visitors to reflect on human creativity across time and regions and the ways in which material culture links communities.

Opening the exhibition during the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, organisers emphasised the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening ties between Bulgaria and Pakistan. The event highlights the potential of cultural exchange to foster mutual understanding and to open new avenues for collaboration in education, research and the arts.

The embassy expressed gratitude to COMSATS University Islamabad for the collaboration and to the guests who attended the launch. Special thanks were given to the State Institute for Culture, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, and the Institute of Balkan Studies and Centre of Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for their support in preparing the Bulgarian section devoted to unique Thracian treasures.

As the exhibition remains on view in Islamabad, organisers hope the project will build cultural bridges and inspire further exchanges that bring the peoples of Bulgaria and Pakistan closer together.
