PHEC audits Honhaar Scholarship records at Rawalpindi Women University on Nov 28, 2025 to confirm transparency and accountability in student support.

On November 28, 2025, Mr. Waqas Ahmad, Assistant Director/Research Officer (Linkages) from the Punjab Higher Education Commission, visited Rawalpindi Women University to conduct an audit of the Chief Minister’s Honhaar Scholarship programme. The visit aimed to review documentation and ensure that university procedures align with the scholarship’s standards for transparency and accountability.

During the audit, the PHEC team carried out a thorough examination of all files and records compiled by the university for the Honhaar Scholarship. Reviewers verified documentation accuracy, assessed record-keeping practices, and checked that procedures supporting student selection and fund management were properly maintained.

The same audit session at Rawalpindi Women University also covered records related to three neighbouring institutions: Fatima Jinnah Women University, Arid Agriculture University, and Rawalpindi Medical University. Conducting these reviews at a single venue allowed the auditors to compare practices and reinforce consistent standards across institutions.

The exercise underscores Rawalpindi Women University’s continued focus on supporting deserving students through the Honhaar Scholarship while upholding rigorous standards of financial and administrative transparency. University administrators welcomed the PHEC review as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen student support systems in the region.
