Engineer Amir Khattak, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, visited the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi office where the managing director and staff provided a detailed briefing on current and upcoming beautification and upgradation projects across parks and green belts in the city. The session covered project timelines, maintenance plans and the role of the agency in advancing Rawalpindi beautification efforts.
The commissioner praised the agency’s work in making the city greener and highlighted the Gorakhpur Nursery as a key asset for supplying healthy plants and flowers. He commended nursery operations and urged that the breeding and propagation process be made more effective to support large-scale planting. Emphasis was placed on selecting plant species that establish quickly and thrive under a regular, integrated care system to ensure lasting gains for Rawalpindi beautification.
During the visit, Engineer Amir Khattak gave specific instructions to beautify the pillars of the metro track and to enhance both the security and aesthetic quality of public parks. He also directed that security measures at the Horticulture Agency office be strengthened and that park facilities be upgraded to provide accessible amenities for persons with disabilities alongside improved recreational options for residents.
Ahmed Hassan Ranjha reaffirmed the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi’s commitment to serving the public and pledged to pursue the Punjab government’s vision of a greener city. The agency will focus on scaling the plantation campaign, improving nursery capacity, and implementing integrated maintenance so Rawalpindi can be transformed into a city of flowers through sustained Rawalpindi beautification initiatives.
