Atif Akram Sheikh, president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, congratulated Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on his appointment as Chief of Defence Forces and welcomed the federal government’s decision.
The business community across Pakistan regards Asim Munir’s elevation as a timely and positive development for national security, with leaders saying the move strengthens confidence in the country’s strategic direction.
Mr. Sheikh described the appointment as good news for Pakistan’s defence sector, noting that decisive and forward-looking leadership at the top is essential to safeguarding the nation and supporting economic stability.
Highlighting Asim Munir’s role in the operation referred to as Ma’rakah Haq, Atif Akram Sheikh praised his courageous leadership and clear decision-making, saying such qualities have enhanced Pakistan’s stature internationally.
He added that Pakistan needs political and military leadership capable of advancing the country’s standing both domestically and on the global stage, and he commended the federal government for choosing a leader with a long-term perspective.
According to Mr. Sheikh, the country must pursue organized decision-making and coherent long-term policies to move forward, and the appointment of Asim Munir is viewed as an important step in that direction.
