Dr Furqan Rao urged stronger China Pakistan ties at an IRS dialogue in Islamabad, outlining cooperation opportunities in development and modernization.

At a dialogue in Islamabad organized by the Institute of Regional Studies in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Dr Furqan Rao, Executive Director of the Center for Democracy and Climate Studies, shared his perspectives on lessons Pakistan can draw from China’s path to development and modernization.

The event featured thoughtful contributions from Ambassador Jahur Saleem, President of the Institute of Regional Studies, Counsellor Wang Sheng Jie, diplomats and subject experts who examined practical avenues for cooperation. Speakers discussed policy alignment, economic collaboration and institutional partnerships that could be adapted to Pakistan’s priorities while respecting local needs.

Dr Rao highlighted key perspectives on strengthening avenues for deeper cooperation between the two brotherly countries, stressing that sustained engagement is essential to translate lessons into action. He emphasised that advancing China Pakistan ties through targeted projects, knowledge exchange and climate-sensitive development would broaden opportunities for trade, technology transfer and capacity building in Pakistan.
