UNICEF, in partnership with the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics PIDE, convened policymakers, researchers, academia and development partners in Islamabad to share evaluation and research findings commissioned by UNICEF and its partners. The gathering aimed to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders to use evidence for children when making policy decisions.
Participants engaged in dialogue and learning sessions that underscored how rigorous research and evaluation can inform more effective policies and programmes. By examining recent studies and evaluations, attendees explored practical ways to integrate evidence for children into planning, budgeting and implementation at both federal and provincial levels.
The event emphasised the role of collaboration between government, academic institutions and development partners in strengthening systems that support children. Discussions focused on improving the use of evaluation results to shape policies that deliver measurable improvements in child well being across Pakistan.
Speakers and delegates highlighted a shared commitment to building sustained capacity for evidence-based decision-making so that policies and programmes consistently deliver better outcomes for every child.
