Uzbekistan Photo Exhibition Opens in Islamabad

Visit the Uzbekistan exhibition in Islamabad at PNCA Gallery 2 until 22 Dec 2025 to see Pakistani photographers' portrayals of Uzbek culture and landscapes.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan and the Pakistan National Council of the Arts hosted the launch of a photo album and exhibition titled Uzbekistan Through the Lens of Pakistani Photographers on 19 December 2025, aiming to strengthen cultural ties and present the beauty of Uzbekistan as seen by Pakistani artists.

The inauguration at PNCA National Art Gallery in Islamabad was led by Mr Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture, who opened the exhibition as Chief Guest. Guest of Honour Mr Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, joined Mr Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, alongside diplomats, political figures and members of the media to mark the occasion.

The exhibition showcases the work of established Pakistani photographers M. Azhar Hafeez, Ramzan Mughal, Shahid Qureshi, Tariq Sulemani and Gulrez Ghauri. Each photographer offers a distinct view of Uzbek culture, history and landscapes, giving visitors a visual journey through cities, traditions and everyday life across Uzbekistan.

As a token of appreciation for the collaboration, Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev presented a souvenir shield to M. Ayoub Jamali, Director General of PNCA, acknowledging his support in organising the Uzbekistan exhibition at PNCA Gallery No. 2.

The exhibition is open to the public at PNCA Gallery No. 2 in Islamabad from 10 am to 4 pm until 22 December 2025. Visitors are invited to experience the Uzbekistan exhibition and engage with the photographic interpretations on display; please note the galleries are closed on Saturdays.
