Pak Tajik Festival opens at Lok Virsa Islamabad, celebrating shared heritage through music, dance and high-level exchanges to strengthen cultural diplomacy.

The Pak Tajik Festival was formally inaugurated at Lok Virsa in Islamabad in a colorful ceremony attended by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Sattoriyon Matlubakhon Amonzoda, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, the Ambassador of Tajikistan, senior government officials, diplomats, artists and figures from the cultural community.

Speaking at the opening, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi described the Pak Tajik Festival as a strong reflection of deep-rooted friendship and longstanding historical and cultural ties between the two brotherly countries. He underscored the role of cultural diplomacy in promoting peace, harmony and people-to-people contact, saying that exchanges of art, music and tradition bring nations closer and send a positive message to younger generations.

In her address, the Tajik Culture Minister highlighted centuries-old spiritual, linguistic and cultural bonds, noting that bilateral relations continue to strengthen under the wise policies of both countries’ leadership. She praised Pakistan’s historical sites, linguistic diversity and rich literary heritage, observing that Tajik and Urdu poetry share common intellectual roots and that cultural days convey messages of peace, friendship and mutual respect.

The Prime Minister’s Adviser for National Heritage and Culture said the Prime Minister appreciated the initiative and has directed that a large cultural delegation from Pakistan be sent to Tajikistan to further promote bilateral cultural cooperation. He also paid tribute to the Tajik Ambassador for his efforts in strengthening cultural ties.

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan lauded Tajikistan’s culture and welcomed the organisation of joint cultural programmes, congratulating the Federal Minister for Culture and the Tajik Ambassador on the successful launch of the Pak Tajik Festival.

The inauguration concluded with captivating performances of folk music, traditional dances and cultural displays that enthralled the audience. The Pak Tajik Festival at Lok Virsa is being widely regarded as a new milestone in deepening cultural relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan and advancing cultural diplomacy in the region.
