Probationary officers of the 53rd Common Training Programme at the Civil Services Academy visited the Community Health Center Shah Allah Ditta as part of a study tour to examine primary healthcare delivery in Islamabad.
The District Health Officer Islamabad and his team welcomed the officers and provided a detailed briefing on the centre’s role in community-level healthcare, explaining key service delivery processes and the public health initiatives currently underway at the facility.
During the visit the officers observed how the centre functions as a first point of contact for residents, and discussed systems for referrals, patient flow and community outreach as they relate to strengthening primary healthcare in the capital. The briefing highlighted how local health efforts feed into broader public health planning.
Participants said the first-hand exposure to operational procedures and public health activities will support their understanding of service delivery challenges and inform their training at the Civil Services Academy as they prepare for administrative roles that interact with healthcare providers and communities.
