At the annual general meeting held at Karachi Gymkhana Club, Abdul Qadir Memon was elected president of the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA). Mr. Memon, who previously served as Senior Vice President and Honorary Treasurer of PBSA, takes the helm with extensive experience in sports administration and organisational leadership.
Mr. Abdul Qadir Memon has a long record of service in the legal community, having been Patron of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association and serving two terms as President of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association as well as two terms leading the Karachi Tax Bar Association. His legal background is expected to inform governance and compliance at the PBSA as he assumes the presidency.
Beyond the law, Mr. Memon’s corporate leadership includes roles as Chairman of the National Clearing Company of Pakistan, Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited and Bank-Islami Modarabas Investment Ltd. He has also served as a director of Pakistan Stock Exchange Ltd and State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, and contributed to the Institute of Corporate Governance and the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan.
Active in civic and youth organisations, Mr. Abdul Qadir Memon has been National President of Pakistan Junior Chamber International and led the Memon Professional Forum. A committed participant in sports and international engagement, he is also involved in welfare, serving as President of the Patients’ Behbud Society for The Aga Khan University Hospital and as a Trustee of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Pakistan. His combined experience in law, finance and philanthropy is expected to shape PBSA’s direction and strengthen snooker and billiards at the national level.
