Morgah police in Rawalpindi have arrested a domestic worker accused of stealing gold jewelry from a household four months ago, detaining her husband and an accomplice in the operation.
According to the police, the suspect entered the residence with a companion under the guise of performing household work and provided a false name to the homeowner before absconding with the jewelry.
Investigators recovered the proceeds from the sale of the stolen gold, amounting to Rs 40 lakh, after tracing financial movements linked to the suspects. Authorities say they employed both technical tools and human intelligence to locate and apprehend the domestic worker, her husband and the identified accomplice.
Morgah police officials added that raids are continuing to arrest other associates and facilitators believed to have helped the suspects. SP Pothowar Talha Wali, speaking for Rawalpindi Police, urged residents to register household employees and warned that those who attack citizens’ life and property will not escape the law.
