Learn how the Sabz Sitara app helps expand women's healthcare access in underserved Pakistan by linking providers to gynecologists and clinical tools.

Sabz Sitara app has been upgraded through a collaboration between Bayer Pakistan’s Consumer Health division and Greenstar Social Marketing to support GSM’s nationwide network of healthcare providers, including Lady Health Workers and community midwives serving low-income and under-served areas across Pakistan.

The digital solution gives front-line providers a hotline that connects them to qualified gynecologists for real-time guidance on complicated cases, along with a clinical information database to support better diagnosis and treatment. The Sabz Sitara app also enables adverse event reporting and streamlines product procurement so community providers can devote more time to patient care.

A dedicated consumer section in the app lets women and their families access clear information on common intimate and everyday health conditions, helping users manage wellbeing and seek timely care. These features are designed to speed up clinical decisions and improve patient safety in community settings.

The development forms part of the EmpowHer collaboration launched in 2024. In its first year the programme reached more than half a million women with awareness and education on intimate health issues and delivered treatment to 100,000 women through 2,000 trained GSM Lady Health Workers, reinforcing the practical benefits of digital tools like the Sabz Sitara app.

By linking community midwives and Lady Health Workers to specialists and clinical resources, the Sabz Sitara app aims to broaden access to women’s healthcare across Pakistan, particularly in areas with limited services, helping millions of women get safer, faster care close to home.
