Khwendo Kor met KPCSW to boost women empowerment with coordinated legal aid, awareness campaigns and rehabilitation across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A delegation from Khwendo Kor met with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women chairperson Dr. Samira Shams at her office to discuss ongoing initiatives focused on women empowerment and the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) across the province.

The Khwendo Kor delegation presented detailed information on projects running in multiple districts, outlining efforts to strengthen women’s social and economic stability, run awareness campaigns, provide legal assistance and support rehabilitation for survivors. The briefing highlighted district-level outreach and measures aimed at reducing GBV and improving access to vital services.

Dr. Samira Shams commended Khwendo Kor’s active role in promoting women empowerment and noted that effective collaboration with civil society organisations can significantly enhance outcomes for women. She affirmed a commitment to deepen cooperation between KPCSW and Khwendo Kor to deliver better protection, support and opportunities for marginalized and underserved women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting concluded with both institutions agreeing to continue joint actions to safeguard women’s rights, promote gender equality and build safer communities, with a shared focus on coordinated programmes, legal support and rehabilitation initiatives that advance women empowerment across the province.
