EU- and Germany-supported missions advance women leadership and community-led peacebuilding to strengthen rule of law and justice in Pakistan.

A diverse delegation of government and civil society partners from across Pakistan has set off for learning missions in Bangkok and Indonesia with support from the European Union in Pakistan and the German Embassy in Islamabad. The exchange aims to deepen practical approaches to community-led peacebuilding and strengthen the rule of law back home.

The mission brings together those who shape policy, deliver justice and build peace, centering women leadership and participation as essential to sustainable outcomes. Participants will examine inclusive justice models, community mediation practices and mechanisms that elevate women’s roles in decision-making.

At UN Women, these learning missions are framed as investments in people and systems that translate global commitments into local impact. By focusing on capacity building and peer-to-peer learning, the initiative seeks to create durable linkages between international best practices and grassroots realities in Pakistan.

Delegates plan to return with concrete lessons to apply in provincial and community settings, aiming to advance peace, justice and equality where it matters most. Strengthening the rule of law through community-led processes and sustained women leadership remains the central objective guiding the delegation’s work.

The journey underscores collaboration between Pakistani stakeholders and international partners to foster inclusive, gender-responsive justice and peacebuilding approaches that can be scaled across the country.
