The explosion at Imam Bargah Khadija al-Kubra in Tarlai, Islamabad was forcefully condemned by Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, focal person for the Prime Minister Youth Program and former deputy mayor of Islamabad, who called the Imam Bargah attack cowardly, inhumane and an open act of terrorism. He warned that targeting a place of worship is an attack not only on innocent citizens but on the peace, unity and religious harmony of the nation.
Mr. Naqvi urged the state to take immediate and decisive action against the perpetrators and their facilitators, saying such ruthless elements deserve no leniency. He emphasized that the rule of law must take its course while ensuring security for all communities.
The collective funeral prayer for the martyrs was held at the Tarlai imam bargah in a sorrowful atmosphere, attended by a large number of mourners, religious and social leaders and political figures. Inspector General Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Mr. Naqvi were present to offer condolences to the bereaved families and to stand in solidarity with the community.
Following the Imam Bargah attack, Mr. Naqvi visited PIMS, Polyclinic and the CDA hospital to check on the injured. He moved through different wards, inquired after patients and received briefings from doctors and medical staff. He directed that victims receive immediate and best possible medical care and commended emergency measures already in place.
Mr. Naqvi also went to Jamia al-Sadiq Imam Bargah to oversee arrangements for the washing of the deceased and to personally console grieving relatives. He assured families that the government stands with them in this difficult hour and reiterated that those responsible will be brought before the law.
He prayed for elevated ranks for the martyrs and a speedy recovery for the wounded, praising the prompt response of rescue, security and medical teams. Emphasizing national unity and brotherhood, Mr. Naqvi said that solidarity remains Pakistan’s greatest strength against terrorism and appealed to citizens to remain calm and resolute.
