Jameel Akhtar Tanoli has strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack in Bannu, calling the incident a brutal and inhumane attempt to destabilize Pakistan and unsettle national peace. He said the Bannu attack targets the safety and progress of the nation and drew widespread condemnation for its violence.
Officials say security forces acted on credible intelligence and foiled an attempted suicide attack after encountering militants in the area. During the operation and exchange of fire five terrorists were eliminated. Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gulfraz, 43, of District Mansehra, and Sepoy Karamat Shah, 28, of District Peshawar, embraced martyrdom while defending the homeland.
Mr Tanoli paid rich tribute to the courage, professionalism and supreme sacrifice of Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gulfraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah and affirmed that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s brave sons will never be forgotten. He said the resolve to eliminate terrorism is strengthened by such determination and urged citizens to honour the memory of the martyrs.
Offering heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, Jameel Akhtar Tanoli prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for patience and strength for their loved ones. He underscored that the nation stands with the families during this difficult time.
Emphasizing that cowardly acts like the Bannu attack will not weaken national resolve, he highlighted the swift and effective response by security forces that prevented major destruction. He described the outcome as a clear demonstration of the armed forces’ commitment to safeguarding national security.
Tanoli reaffirmed full support for ongoing counter-terrorism operations under Azm-e-Istehkam and said the fight against terrorism will continue with full force until lasting peace and stability are restored across the country. He stated that the entire nation remains united with its armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the struggle to eradicate extremism and secure a safer future for coming generations.
