The 14th UAE Ambassadors Cup Ramadan Football Tournament 2026 kicked off in Islamabad with a large gathering of diplomats, officials and spectators as teams prepared for a month of competitive play and community engagement.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Kuwait, Ambassador of Lebanon, Ambassador of Zimbabwe, the Deputy Head of Mission of the United States, senior Pakistani government officials, members of the diplomatic community and representatives of the media.
Hosted by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the UAE Ambassadors Cup aims to promote sportsmanship, cultural exchange and stronger people-to-people ties during the holy month of Ramadan. The tournament provides a neutral, friendly arena where representatives of different nations and local communities can interact outside diplomatic settings.
A total of 10 teams will compete across 22 matches throughout the tournament, offering sustained football action for Islamabad audiences and opportunities for grassroots engagement between visiting delegations and Pakistani sports enthusiasts.
The event brings together diverse communities in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding, reflecting Islamabad’s role as a hub for diplomatic and cultural exchange during Ramadan and reinforcing the tournament’s focus on unity through sport.
