Silent Expressions II opened at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts in Islamabad, presenting three days of artwork created by hearing-impaired students and reinforcing the city’s growing commitment to inclusive education. The exhibition ran from 25th to 27th February 2026 and offered visitors a close look at pieces that demonstrated notable technical skill and artistic maturity.

The event was inaugurated by Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, who praised the students for work that she said stands on par with professional platforms. The ceremony was attended by Nadeem Mahbub, Federal Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training, and was spearheaded by Captain (R) Asif Iqbal Asif, Director General of Special Education.

Muhammad Ayoub Jamali, Director General of PNCA, highlighted the high standard of the exhibited works and noted how the collection reflected the caliber of seasoned artists. Visitors to Silent Expressions encountered a range of styles and themes that underscored the creative depth present among hearing-impaired students across the country.

A major announcement at the exhibition confirmed that student internships would be transitioned into permanent employment opportunities, a move underlined by DGSE Captain (R) Asif Iqbal Asif as part of the Ministry’s pledge to ensure no child is left behind. Officials emphasised the importance of financial independence and dignity through sustainable employment as key outcomes of the initiative.

The three-day showing at PNCA provided a visible platform for talent from special education streams and strengthened links between arts institutions and government bodies working on inclusive policies. Silent Expressions served not only as an artistic showcase but also as a practical step toward broader professional empowerment for hearing-impaired youth in Pakistan.
